wow! so much for april showers, we've just had a march raging storm! after watching a show on patio plants, we felt inspired to plant some pots yesterday. we now have 2 strawberry plants, 2 tomato plants, and about 10 lettuce plants (red lettuce and bibb lettuce). at 5 a.m. this morning we were awoken by the pounding rain and howling winds. we jumped up to close our windows and suddenly, anthony remembered our brand new plants on the balcony. we rushed downstairs, threw some towels on the floor and hauled our pots inside. so now i'm hoping i haven't shocked the life out of them
and they're able to "weather" all the upcoming spring storms. it looks like we've got rain for the next 5 days straight, so i'll have to decide when to put them back out. i'm not so worried about the rain, but that wind! i thought our lit
tle lettuce plants were going to blow away! any recommendations?

How about a garbage bag as a windbreak?
